Caryn Lieberman is an award winning broadcast journalist. Most recently, as Hard News Anchor, Caryn led Sun News Network’s breaking news coverage of terror attacks in Ottawa, Paris and Sydney. Previously, as host of her own daily news show “Right Now with Caryn Lieberman” on Sun, Caryn interviewed top newsmakers and reported on major breaking news stories in Canada and the U.S. including the search/arrest of convicted body parts killer Luka Magnotta, a number of elections (both provincial and federal,) and the Boston Marathon bombing.
Prior to Sun News Network, Caryn spent two years breaking the news and producing it on CP24, where you would see her in the evenings reporting mostly on crime in the city. As well, she produced and hosted 1-hour Specials for Remembrance Day and Holocaust Education Week – for which she was awarded the RTNDA Adrienne Clarkson Award for Diversity. She also spent a year writing for Lloyd Robertson and Sandie Rinaldo at CTV National – during which time she was part of a team awarded the L.A. Press Club Award for best hard news coverage.
Caryn began her career in her hometown of Montreal. She’s fluently bilingual and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communication Studies from Concordia University. She began as an intern at Global News in Montreal, before quickly climbing the ladder to Line-Up Editor, Producer and eventually stepping in front of the camera as General Assignment Reporter. A role that led her to Quebec City where she spent two years covering the news.
Caryn currently lives in Toronto with her husband and daughter.
